Art History and Architecture Courses

Description. The Art History Course provides 4 introductory lessons every week (with videos, presentations and printed material) and 1 guided tour. Each week is dedicated to a specific time period: a) ancient Rome; b) medieval Rome; c) Baroque Rome; d) Bernini and Caravaggio.

The Contemporary Architecture Course is divided into 2 introductory lessons and 2 visits to the major works of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries in Rome: the neighborhood of EUR, Renzo Piano’s auditorium, Zaha Hadid's MAXXI museum , Richard Meier's Ara Pacis (Alter of Peace).

Objectives. The course aims to accompany students along an artistic path that has no bounds. The various themes each week will allow participants to get in touch with a specific historical period and its major works, providing a full experience. The interactive lessons, the advice and tips on places to see and explore, and the guided tours will help students learn the city and its monuments in a new way.

Through video presentations and guided tours, we will take you from early ancient art to the Renaissance period, the Baroque architecture of the twentieth century, helping you to discover the secrets of Raphael, Michelangelo and other incredible Italian artists.
